Kids Fly Fishing Day Camps

Two-day outdoor fishing camps that teach kids the skills, safety, and a love of fly fishing
with one of our expert Guides. 1:4 instructor guidance.

Camp Curriculum

What Kids Will Learn

  • Fly fishing equipment basics and casting fundamentals
  • Fly tying and entomology (the science of insects fish eat)
  • River safety, etiquette, and Leave No Trace practices
  • Fish handling and conservation techniques
  • Rigging, knot tying, and reading the river

Each spring and summer we are excited to offer a series of 2 day youth fly fishing camps for kids ages 10-15.

Each day of camp consists of three (3) hours of instruction. We begin by introducing each angler to the equipment they will be using, the main differences between fly fishing vs. spin fishing. Other areas of instruction will include: rigging (how to set up our fly rods), reading the river and locating trout, knot tying, basic fly casting and presentation, safe handling of fish, fly tying and a leave no trace course.

Our instructors (4:1 student – instructor ratio) provide all gear and materials needed for each class.
Bottled water and snacks for all of our new anglers!
Kids just need to show up ready to fish.
